CoinEx announced it would shut down operations following a nearly nine-year run, initiating a phased closure schedule on Sept. 15, 2026. The التبادل cited declining crypto trading volumes, reduced liquidity, stricter regulatory mandates, and rising compliance overhead as the reasons for the shutdown.
Established in 2017, the trading platform eventually grew to offer spot, futures, هامش, lending, staking, and automated trading features. According to its official figures, the venue catered to over 10 million clients across more than 200 countries and regions.
Because of that reach, the closure carries significance beyond just token holders. It also highlights how a long-standing التبادل الذي يحتفظ بأموال العملاء ويطابق الطلبات داخلياً.">المركزي التبادل handles customer exits amid a sluggish market environment.
This shutdown eliminates yet another centralized trading destination in an industry where activity continues to cluster heavily among the top-tier platforms. Clients now face strict deadlines to close out positions, swap assets, and pull their funds before the exchange goes offline completely.
CoinEx Begins Phased Shutdown of Trading Services
The Sept. 15 announcement stated that user registrations were halted immediately. Referral bonuses and other incentives also ceased, while futures contracts shifted into reduced-only mode.

The platform similarly cut off new orders for التداول بالهامش, loans, Earn, staking, الورقية services, and strategic trading. Anyone with existing positions can still manage them according to the outlined wind-down timeline.
All services outside of spot trading are slated to halt on Sept. 22. On-chain deposits will likewise be disabled that day, with the sole exception of CoinEx Token deposits, which remain open until Sept. 29.
Spot cryptocurrency trading will conclude on Sept. 29. On that same day, the platform will discontinue operations for both the CoinEx Smart Chain and OneSwap.
The enterprise noted that withdrawals will stay open through Dec. 22. It advised clients to execute withdrawals early, as blockchain network congestion could cause delays and higher network fees.
CoinEx Sets Asset Settlement and Withdrawal Rules
The business instructed users to withdraw Tether’s USDT across the designated 90-day withdrawal window. Any remaining balances left behind after Dec. 22 will be transferred into independent custody pursuant to the established settlement rules.
The venue stated that a monthly custody fee will be assessed at 5% of the starting balance recorded when the withdrawal window closed. Customers retain the ability to file custody claims via email up until Aug. 22, 2028.
Holders of the CoinEx Token are subject to a distinct settlement procedure. The exchange stated it will buy back remaining CET holdings at a rate of $0.005 per token as soon as spot trading concludes.
Historical data from CoinGecko revealed that CET finished around $0.00527 on Sept. 12. Earlier in the month, the token traded above $0.0123.
This drop brought the buyout rate close to prevailing market prices right before the shutdown notice. At the same time, a locked settlement price eliminates any further market exposure once trading stops.
The firm clarified that its المحفظة and Vault solutions function independently from the main exchange. Those tools will continue running even after the centralized trading site shuts down.
Crypto Exchange Liquidity Shifts Toward Larger Venues
CoinMarketCap metrics indicated roughly $59.9 million in 24-hour spot trading حجم تداول for the exchange prior to the wind-down notice. The tracking site also estimated exchange assets at approximately $166.4 million.

The company maintained that customer assets were fully backed throughout the winding-down process. Its proof-of-reserves update from February indicated reserve levels exceeding 100% across major monitored assets.
That report showed Tether reserves at 106.62%, البيتكوين at 105.57%, and ETH أصلها الأساسي.">إيثريوم at 100.2%. Total wallet assets recorded during the February snapshot stood at $492.4 million.
Although proof-of-reserves reports do not eliminate counterparty or operational dangers, the published percentages give users a baseline reference point throughout the withdrawal window.
CoinMarketCap’s later asset tally came in lower than the company’s February snapshot. Because the two evaluations rely on different dates and formulas, they cannot be directly compared.
