Exploit
An attack that abuses a flaw in contract logic to drain funds.
Exploits typically target reentrancy bugs, faulty access control, mispriced oracles or bridge validation errors. Because contracts hold funds directly and execute automatically, a successful exploit can empty a protocol in a single transaction.
Recovery depends on whether the attacker can be identified, whether funds can be frozen at an exchange, and whether the protocol negotiates a bounty for their return.
