CryptoQuant defines exchange reserve as assets held in wallets controlled by an exchange. Its methodology treats rising reserves as greater potential sell-side availability.
The reserve figure also matters because exchange balances can influence near-term liquidity. Coins held on exchange-linked addresses remain easier to trade than self-custodied balances. However, reserves alone cannot identify holder intent or future market orders.
