The number of coins currently available and trading in public hands.
Circulating supply excludes tokens that are locked, vesting, reserved by the treasury or provably burned. It is the denominator behind market cap and most valuation ratios.
Comparing circulating supply to max supply shows how much future dilution is still queued up, which matters a great deal for newly launched tokens.
