Max Supply
The hard ceiling on how many coins can ever exist.
Max supply is the absolute limit written into a protocol, such as Bitcoin’s 21 million. Total supply refers to what has been issued so far minus burns, which is a different number.
Some assets have no cap at all and issue indefinitely. Whether that is inflationary in practice depends on burn mechanisms and demand.
